Teaching Assistant – Early Years

About the role

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and proactive Early Years Teaching Assistant to support teaching and learning at King’s School The Crown in Cairo. You will work closely with class teachers to create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment that promotes curiosity, independence, and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Support class teachers in delivering engaging, inclusive, child‑centred learning experiences.
• Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and support progress.
• Help create and maintain a stimulating, well‑organised, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and social development.
• Assist in observing, recording, and sharing student progress with teaching staff.
• Supervise pupils during break times, lunch, school trips, and events.

Required profile

• Relevant experience working with children, ideally in a school or educational setting.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and professional conduct expectations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A warm, patient, and proactive approach with high expectations for pupil behaviour.
• Flexibility and a collaborative mindset, willing to support a range of classroom and school activities.
• Ability to support learning effectively in both group and one‑to‑one settings.
