About the role
The Assistant Procurement Manager supports the procurement function for large‑scale construction and real‑estate projects, ensuring that all technical materials are sourced efficiently, cost‑effectively, and in line with project specifications.
Key responsibilities
- Identify project requirements, client obligations, and verify designs before tender release.
- Study specifications, drawings, and bills of quantities to prepare detailed cost breakdowns.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to define project phasing and issue invitations to tender.
- Negotiate tender rates, analyse pricing, and recommend material alternatives.
- Maintain a database of approved vendors, material prices, and equipment costs.
- Prepare regular procurement logs, saving reports, and tender tracking documents.
- Conduct market analysis to secure the best purchase deals within approved budgets.
- Lead the procurement team, update supplier information, and manage real‑estate tender evaluations worth up to EGP10 bn annually.
- Produce weekly Material Price Index reports and increase client‑procured items through new supplier qualification.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- 6–8 years of experience in construction or real‑estate procurement.
- Strong understanding of project specifications, tender processes, and cost analysis.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
