Business Development Team Lead

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Team Lead to drive new customer acquisition in the Egyptian market. The role combines hands‑on sales activity with coaching a high‑performing BD team to consistently meet and exceed targets.

Key responsibilities

• Own and execute the new‑customer acquisition strategy across target industries in Egypt.
• Identify, prospect, and win new logos through outbound activities such as cold calling, networking, referrals, and market mapping.
• Lead customer discovery, qualification, proposal development, and deal closure.
• Coach, develop, and set KPIs for the Business Development team, conducting regular performance reviews and pipeline meetings.
• Build and maintain relationships with decision‑makers, deliver sales presentations, and support negotiations.
• Ensure accurate CRM usage, pipeline hygiene, forecasting, and reporting on wins, losses, and market insights.
• Coordinate with internal teams to align solutions with customer requirements and ensure smooth hand‑over throughout the sales cycle.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development or sales with a strong focus on new‑customer acquisition.
• Deep knowledge of the Egyptian market, buying behaviours, and decision cycles.
• Prior experience leading or mentoring a BD/sales team.
• Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
