About the role
The Commis II supports the culinary team at Sheraton Sharm Hotel Resort Villas & Spa, preparing ingredients, cooking under supervision and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients including portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, weighing, measuring and mixing.
- Cook and assemble dishes according to recipes, quality and presentation standards.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
- Monitor cooking temperatures, conduct taste tests and ensure food quality.
- Prepare cold foods and plate portions correctly.
- Set up and break down work stations; clean and disinfect kitchen areas, tools and equipment.
- Follow safety, security and hygiene policies; report incidents and maintain professional appearance.
- Perform physical tasks including standing for long periods and lifting up to 25 lb.
Required profile
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of food‑service or kitchen experience.
- Ability to work full‑time in a fast‑paced hotel kitchen.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift ≤25 lb and reach overhead.
- No supervisory experience required.
- Willingness to follow safety training and company policies.
Required skills
- Operating ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
- Food preparation techniques (chopping, portioning, measuring).
- Basic food safety and hygiene practices.
- Temperature monitoring of appliances and food.
