Data Privacy Partner – Egypt

About the role

The Data Privacy Partner safeguards personal data across AstraZeneca Egypt, ensuring compliance with local data protection laws and the company’s Global Data Privacy Standard. Reporting to the Compliance Business Partner and working closely with the Head of Legal, the role blends legal, technology and business expertise to embed ethical data practices.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the local Data Privacy Subject Matter Expert, maintaining compliance with Egyptian data protection regulations and AstraZeneca policies.
• Maintain the Record of Processing Activities (ROPA) and keep related documentation up‑to‑date.
• Advise senior leadership on privacy requirements and support incident response, breach containment, and notifications to authorities.
• Review Privacy Impact Assessments for high‑risk projects, including digital tools and AI initiatives.
• Implement consent management, privacy notices, and manage Data Subject Requests end‑to‑end.
• Collaborate with the Global Privacy Office to apply global recommendations locally.
• Embed Privacy by Design and Privacy by Default into processes across Legal, HR, Commercial, and IT.
• Design and deliver regular privacy training for employees and raise awareness of data‑sensitive risks.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Egyptian data protection law and international privacy standards.
• Experience advising senior leaders and handling data‑breach investigations.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with legal, IT, HR, and commercial teams.
• Excellent communication skills in English (and Arabic if applicable).
