Director of Human Resources (Egypt)

About the role

Save the Children International is seeking a senior HR leader to head the Human Resources function for its Egypt Country Office. Reporting to the Country Director and working closely with the Regional HR Business Partner, the Director will ensure HR services meet both humanitarian and development program needs while complying with global standards and national regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic HR leadership as a member of the Senior Management Team, contributing to overall country office direction.
• Design and maintain an organizational structure aligned with program requirements and funding levels.
• Oversee HR policies, manuals, and procedures, ensuring they reflect Save the Children standards and local law.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, payroll, benefits, and staff wellbeing initiatives, including mental health support.
• Maintain strong relationships with government authorities and external partners.
• Ensure HR systems can scale rapidly for emergency staffing and humanitarian response.
• Support rightsizing exercises and workforce planning in line with business needs.

Required profile

• Proven senior HR management experience, preferably in humanitarian or development contexts.
• Right to work in Egypt for the full contract duration.
• Fluency in English and Arabic.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop HR teams, including officers and senior managers.
• Experience working with senior leadership and contributing to strategic decision‑making.
