Duty Manager - Marks & Spencer, Mall of Egypt

About the role

The Duty Manager oversees the daily operations of the Marks & Spencer store at Mall of Egypt, ensuring a high standard of customer service, efficient stock management and compliance with company procedures and legal requirements. The role leads and motivates the department to drive sales and operational efficiency, manages store openings and closings and works with the Operations Team Lead to optimise performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and train the team, hold regular meetings and one-on-ones, and ensure staff are skilled in product knowledge, customer service and store policies
• Manage store operations during openings, closings and cash counting, and handle cash reconciliation and accurate financial records
• Deliver excellent customer service on the sales floor, handling queries and resolving issues promptly
• Oversee stock levels, replenishment, inventory transfers, gap scanning and cyclic counts
• Enforce Standard Operating Procedures and comply with trading safety, legal and health and safety regulations
• Set and track sales targets, analyse sales data and adjust staffing to traffic and demand
• Walk the store weekly with the Visual Merchandising team and give feedback on displays and merchandising strategy

Required profile

• Proven retail management or leadership experience, ideally in clothing, food or cafe operations
• Knowledge of stock management, SOPs and retail legal compliance
• Ability to work under pressure, especially during peak trading periods
• Analytical approach to store performance reports and strong communication skills
