Duty Manager - Sofitel Cairo Downtown Nile

About the role

The Duty Manager at Sofitel Cairo Downtown Nile oversees the day-to-day management of the guest experience, giving hands-on guidance and support to all departments as needed. The role ensures service standards and operating procedures match guest expectations and keeps the hotel running smoothly while on duty.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure service standards and operating procedures align with guest needs and maintain a professional, hospitable image
• Be flexible in assisting guests and cooperate promptly with anyone needing help
• Maintain regular, efficient communication about shifts and attend hotel meetings as required
• Assist with personnel and training, including the induction of new staff with the Heads of Department
• Take supervisory responsibilities in specific departments and assist in catering operations
• Protect the security of the hotel, stocks and keys while on duty
• Help the Operations Manager comply with health and safety obligations, ensure risk assessments are carried out and reviewed regularly, and report maintenance needs and hazards
• Handle emergencies in line with procedures and attend training meetings as required

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• 2-4 years of management experience, or progressive growth in a customer service role, preferably in theme park or hotel/resort operations
• Proven ability to manage a team of direct reports and motivate them toward excellent guest service
• Knowledge of safety and security procedures (health, liability, loss prevention, incident reporting)
• Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus

Prior experience with Opera or a related system is an asset.
