Electrical & Automation Engineer

About the role

Givaudan, a global company with a 250-year history of innovation in food, beverage, fragrance and beauty, is hiring an Electrical & Automation Engineer for its 6th October City site in Cairo. You will report to the Maintenance Manager and work on the electrical and automation maintenance of production equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve faults in PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems and control circuits.
• Monitor and improve the performance of automation equipment to reduce downtime.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations, Food Safety standards and Health & Safety policies, including lockout-tagout (LOTO).
• Apply root cause analysis (RCA) to fix recurring problems and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain and update maintenance logs and documentation using CMMS, and document changes to electrical and control systems.
• Install, configure and calibrate sensors, VFDs and other control devices, and support commissioning of new machines and upgrades.
• Work with production teams to minimise disruption, monitor spare parts stock and optimise energy consumption where possible.
• Support audits and inspections, and train and guide junior technicians.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical/Automation Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in electrical and automation maintenance, including engineering projects with diverse disciplines.
• Project management experience.
• Good knowledge of EHS rules and guidelines.

Required skills

• Good command of TPM, KPI, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and project controlling tools.
• Stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Basic understanding of financial concepts (OPEX, CAPEX) and ERP systems such as SAP.
