GBV Officer – Safe Spaces Project

About the role

The GBV Officer will lead the Safe Spaces Project for Gender‑Based Violence prevention and response, providing coordinated support to refugee and asylum‑seeking women and girls in Cairo. The role ensures that project activities are planned, implemented and monitored in line with the programme’s objectives and budget.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and implement project activities across targeted governorates, supervising field coordinators and volunteers.
• Develop detailed activity plans that align with the project budget and objectives.
• Manage, request and settle expenses, ensuring financial accountability and cost optimisation.
• Maintain regular communication with volunteers and ensure their active engagement.
• Monitor monthly tasks of field staff to guarantee successful completion of field activities.
• Coordinate with the Business Development department for social‑media coverage and outreach.

Required profile

• Female candidates are preferred.
• Experience in project planning, implementation and operations within humanitarian or GBV contexts.
• Ability to supervise field teams and manage budgets.
• Strong communication skills for coordination with volunteers and partners.
