Network Engineer

About the role

The Network Engineer will join Mashreq's IT department to design, implement, and maintain the bank's data and voice network across Egypt. You will work closely with the Head Office Technology Network and Security teams, as well as external vendors, to deliver reliable and secure networking solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare network team MBOs and provide technical direction to ensure standards and procedures are followed.
• Create and maintain network diagrams, documentation, and passive network assets such as cable labeling and port mapping.
• Evaluate new and emerging networking technologies and participate in IT infrastructure projects.
• Provide onsite support to branch users and assist with routing and switching troubleshooting (OSPF, BGP, STP, HSRP, ACL, MPLS, DMVPN, NAT, etc.).
• Coordinate with IT vendors, monitor SLAs, and ensure compliance with the bank's operational risk policy.
• Execute hands‑on configuration changes on the Mashreq Egypt data/voice network with minimal business interruption.
• Support voice/video architecture implementation and contribute to security‑related physical implementations.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with routing and switching protocols in a large‑scale environment.
• Proven ability to work with vendors and manage SLA compliance.
• Familiarity with operational risk and security policies in the banking sector.
