O2C Team Manager

About the role

The O2C Team Manager reports to the Senior Manager O2C/Trade and sets the direction, strategy, goals and objectives for the SSC O2C organization, which includes credit administration, collections, cash application and AR management reporting. As part of the SSC leadership team, the role drives financial governance, controls and operational excellence, partnering with CFOs, controllers and finance co-pilots to improve accuracy and reduce costs. It also plays a key role in the S&F financial operations transformation. The manager leads a team of 8 direct reports.

Key responsibilities

• Set direction and strategies for the MGS Finance O2C processes to meet periodic collections targets, reduce and review customer deductions, clear overdue accounts and manage customer sub-ledger closing.
• Meet and exceed SLAs and customer expectations for Order to Cash process areas.
• Communicate metrics to stakeholders, identify root causes and solve issues together with process owners, and represent SSC at trade conferences and industry groups.
• Establish organizational design, processes and procedures to support Mars Financial Services objectives and improve working capital.
• Develop best-practice O2C procedures, recommend improvements to the Global Business Process Owner, and work with the Order to Cash GPO and Finance Transformation Team on standards and new service offerings.
• Ensure balance sheet preparation meets quality standards for all O2C areas and that O2C processes comply with the finance manual.
• Manage a team of 8 people, including hiring, training, workload distribution, coaching and performance and development discussions.

Required profile

• Master's degree in accounting, finance or business required; MBA or CPA preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in accounting and finance, including significant experience in financial processes and controls.
• Demonstrated success in financial process implementation, transformation or continuous improvement.
• Experience with and comfort at higher management levels.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of financial accounting and reporting (US GAAP), including P&L, balance sheet and source and use of cash.
• End-user experience with SAP and advanced Excel.
