Plumbing and Firefighting Design Engineer

About the role

Sabbour Consulting is seeking a qualified Plumbing and Firefighting Design Engineer to join its multidisciplinary team. You will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and coordinating design solutions for plumbing and fire protection systems across residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review detailed designs, drawings, and calculations for plumbing and firefighting systems.
• Ensure all designs comply with project specifications, local regulations, and international standards such as NFPA, BS, and ASHRAE.
• Assist in the production of shop drawings, material submittals, and technical documentation.
• Support senior engineers in resolving technical design issues and provide clarifications to site teams during installation and commissioning.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural disciplines to deliver integrated MEP solutions.
• Maintain design records, track approvals, revisions, and prepare progress reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, preferably with an MEP specialization.
• 2–5 years of experience in plumbing and firefighting design.
• Familiarity with international codes and standards (NFPA, BS, ASHRAE, local codes).
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and attention‑to‑detail abilities.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in Revit MEP.
• Experience with hydraulic design software.
