Project Manager

About the role

Hitachi Rail is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead and deliver complex projects within Hitachi Rail, Ltd. The role covers the full project lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence and high-quality results in line with company objectives. The position is full time and based in Cairo.

Key responsibilities

• Define project scope, goals and deliverables with senior management and stakeholders.
• Develop project plans with timelines, resource allocation and budget estimates.
• Lead and motivate cross-functional teams and guide their execution.
• Monitor progress, identify risks and put mitigation measures in place.
• Manage budgets, track expenses and meet financial targets.
• Report project status, issues and successes to stakeholders regularly.
• Facilitate collaboration between team members, stakeholders and external vendors.
• Ensure projects follow Hitachi's quality standards, methodologies and best practices.
• Run post-project evaluations to capture lessons learned.
• Handle changes to scope, schedule and costs using appropriate verification techniques.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Engineering or Computer Science.
• At least 5 years of proven project management experience, preferably in a large multinational corporation.
• PMP/IPMA or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
• Experience with risk management and change management processes.
• Ability to work in a diverse, global team environment.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of project management methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall.
• Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in project management software such as MS Project, Jira or Asana.
• Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
