Regional Manager - HROC

About the role

Heidelberg Materials is looking for a Regional Manager - HROC based in Cairo, Egypt. Reporting to the Director HROC EMEA (solid line) and the Head of Operational/Maintenance Excellence, Area CCC (dotted line), the manager leads HROC operational services for several cement plants, manages control room experts and coordinates functional support teams. The role acts as the main HROC contact for plant, country management and the CCC, connecting plant, country and global teams and driving implementation through influence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop HROC teams supporting multiple cement plants, with clear expectations, technical guidance and development plans.
• Act as the main HROC technical contact for plants, country and CCC management, ensuring responsive and effective support.
• Align with plant, country, global teams and hubs to drive implementation through influence, constructive challenge and support.
• Build strong relationships and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Work across operations, maintenance, engineering, quality, procurement and sales to deliver practical, sustainable solutions.
• Define and monitor operational and technical KPIs with CCC and plants, identify performance gaps and lead improvement actions.
• Provide regular performance updates and recommendations to HROC leadership and key stakeholders.
• Collaborate with CCC and plant personnel so that operators, process, quality, reliability, systems and planning experts effectively support their plant sites, providing guidance, expertise and resources.
• Monitor and control expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities and optimise HROC resource use.
• Manage career path improvements for HROC resources while ensuring timely hiring.
• Promote knowledge sharing, cross-plant collaboration, standardisation, technology, tools and AI use within company data policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management or a related field.
• At least 10 years of cement industry experience, with current or recent experience as Plant Manager or one level below.
• Strong performance record and clear leadership potential.
• Proven experience leading and developing diverse teams across multiple plant sites.
• Ability to influence without direct authority and to build trust across levels and cultures.
• Fluent English; additional languages are an advantage.
• Willingness to travel regularly for business needs.
