Project Planning Manager

About the role

The Project Planning Manager will lead the planning and scheduling function for large‑scale construction projects, ensuring that timelines are realistic, monitored, and communicated effectively. You will work closely with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to keep projects on track and mitigate delays.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, update, and monitor project baselines and detailed schedules using Primavera P6.
• Review contractor schedules, progress updates, recovery plans, and time‑related claims.
• Track actual progress against approved programmes, identify delays, risks, and critical activities.
• Coordinate with project teams, consultants, and contractors to obtain accurate progress information.
• Prepare schedule and delay analyses using recognized time‑claim techniques and recommend corrective actions.
• Produce weekly and monthly progress reports for management and the client.
• Maintain accurate records of progress, delays, changes, and key project issues.
• Support management meetings with clear planning and progress data.
• Lead planning deliverables, including schedule updates, monitoring, analysis, and reporting.
• Collaborate with engineering, construction, commercial, and document control teams to verify planning data.
• Work independently and mentor junior planning staff when assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, architectural engineering, or a related field.
• 12–15 years of experience in project planning and scheduling.
• Proven experience on large‑scale building projects, preferably luxury hotels, complex buildings, or malls.
• Strong understanding of project schedules, progress measurement, critical path analysis, and time‑claim techniques.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills with the ability to work autonomously.
