Purchasing Engineer – Electrical

About the role

The Purchasing Engineer – Electrical will lead the end‑to‑end procurement process for electrical materials, services and assets, ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency and compliance with company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Handle assigned projects and send Requests for Quotation (RFQ) to suppliers based on specifications.
• Obtain, negotiate and compare quotations, prepare comparison sheets and draft purchase orders (PO) for approval.
• Issue POs, monitor daily purchase request status, and prepare weekly status reports for management.
• Review market trends, price and delivery conditions; identify and qualify new suppliers to expand the database.
• Approve POs, initiate advance payments, and assist purchase officers with order acknowledgements and invoice processing.
• Match supplier bank details in SAP, raise change requests when mismatches occur, and cross‑check invoices.
• Provide feedback to the Commercial Section for letters of credit (L/C) issuance and foreign‑currency statements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of procurement experience in a technical or electrical engineering environment.
• Strong knowledge of international procurement practices and Incoterms.
• Experience drafting and managing service contracts with awareness of tax and legal implications.
• Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
• Proficiency with ERP and procurement software.
