QS Engineer – Construction Cost Management

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented QS Engineer to join our team in Cairo. You will manage project costs, prepare quantity surveys and ensure financial control throughout the construction lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse bills of quantities (BOQ) and cost estimates for construction projects.
• Monitor and control project costs, identify variances and implement corrective actions.
• Review contracts, specifications and tender documents with meticulous attention to detail.
• Manage procurement processes and evaluate supplier quotations for cost‑effectiveness.
• Produce detailed cost reports and financial forecasts for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers and contractors to resolve cost‑related issues.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation and financial records.
• Conduct risk assessments related to project budgets and ensure compliance with Egyptian construction standards.
• Utilise QS software to analyse data, generate reports and streamline cost management.
• Participate in tender evaluations and provide cost‑analysis recommendations.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor or QS Engineer in construction or engineering projects.
• Strong knowledge of quantity surveying principles, cost estimation and budgeting methodologies.
• Familiarity with Egyptian construction standards and building regulations.
• Experience with BIM and 3D cost estimation is preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with QS software such as Bluebeam, Primavera and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools.
• Ability to perform risk assessment and contingency planning.
