Room Service Order Taker

About the role

Kempinski is hiring a Room Service Order Taker in Cairo, Egypt, in its Food & Beverage department. The role covers serving food and beverages to guests in the assigned outlet with courteous, professional and efficient service, taking orders by telephone and encouraging sales while maximising guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Take orders by telephone and post them correctly in the POS system so the service and kitchen departments receive accurate information.
• Coordinate with the waiter/waitress and minibar attendant, and display excellent conversation skills and selling techniques.
• Be punctual, wear the correct uniform, clean and well pressed with polished shoes and a nametag, and maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene.
• Know all hotel services and products, and explain and upsell items and alternatives offered by the department.
• Monitor operating supplies and equipment, reduce spoilage and wastage, and keep the outlet and surroundings clean and organised.
• Perform opening and closing procedures, handle guest enquiries courteously, and report guest complaints and feedback to supervisors with follow-up.
• Operate the POS system according to the assigned training level, attend staff meetings and trainings, and assist with scheduled inventories.
• Follow hotel policies on fire, hygiene, health and safety, and act as a role model and guardian of service quality for the team.

Required profile

• Egyptian nationality.
• High school or university graduate.
• One year of experience in a customer service position, preferably in a 5-star hotel.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
