Senior ESIA Consultant

About the role

The Senior ESIA Consultant will lead and manage complex environmental and social projects across Africa, with a primary focus on Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) processes in Egypt. The role requires deep expertise in ESIA methodologies, Egyptian regulatory frameworks, and international best‑practice standards, while working closely with the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary project teams to deliver high‑quality ESIA reports on time and within budget.
• Coordinate public and stakeholder engagement processes, ensuring transparent consultation.
• Manage liaison with regulatory authorities, including the EEAA, to secure approvals.
• Oversee translation and localisation of key project documents.
• Handle overall project administration, resource allocation, quality assurance, and client communication.
• Ensure compliance with national and international standards such as IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, and World Bank Safeguards.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in mining, renewables or infrastructure sectors.
• B.Sc. (Hons) or Master’s degree in Environmental or Natural Sciences or a related field.
• Proven ability to manage large‑scale ESIA projects proactively.
• Strong knowledge of Egyptian environmental legislation and processes.
• Experience working with the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency (EEAA).
• Excellent stakeholder management and client liaison skills.

Required skills
