Sr Escalators & Elevators Engineer

About the role

The Senior Escalators & Elevators Engineer will lead maintenance activities for all escalators and elevators on Cairo Metro Line 3. The role ensures safety, reliability and optimal performance while coordinating with subcontractors, clients and regulatory bodies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance to engineers and technicians and lead routine inspections and servicing.
• Conduct advanced diagnostics, root‑cause analysis and develop corrective actions.
• Standardize performance monitoring using predictive maintenance tools and system simulations.
• Manage handover of assets to clients and warranty service providers.
• Contribute to maintenance budgeting and cost‑effective service delivery.
• Supervise the maintenance team, coordinate subcontractors and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
• Prepare technical documentation, maintenance reports and manage spare‑parts inventory.
• Lead training programs for junior staff and stay updated on technology and regulatory changes.
• Respond to emergency service calls and enforce passenger evacuation procedures.
• Implement quality control measures for all maintenance tasks.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in escalator and elevator maintenance within large transportation or infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills for performance optimization and fault diagnosis.
• Familiarity with safety, environmental and regulatory standards for vertical transport systems.
