Structural Design Engineer

About the role

The Structural Design Engineer will join Sesco Steel’s Cairo office to lead the analysis and design of steel structures for a variety of industrial projects. This full‑time, on‑site position works closely with fabrication, project management and construction teams to deliver safe, cost‑effective solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections and load‑bearing elements.
• Prepare detailed design calculations and review technical specifications.
• Create and review CAD/AutoCAD drawings for manufacturing and installation.
• Coordinate with fabrication, project management and construction teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide technical support during manufacturing, erection and commissioning.
• Review client requirements, participate in design reviews and optimise designs for cost, safety and performance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• Strong foundation in structural engineering principles applied to steel structures.
• Knowledge of international and regional design codes such as AISC and Eurocode.
• Experience in industrial or steel‑fabrication projects is highly beneficial.
• Excellent analytical abilities, attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork in a fast‑paced industrial environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with structural analysis software: SAP2000, Idea Statica, ETABS, STAAD.Pro.
• Hands‑on experience with CAD tools, especially AutoCAD.
• Design of steel frames, connections and load‑bearing elements.
• Familiarity with relevant design codes (AISC, Eurocode).
