Infrastructure Estimation Team Leader

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Estimation Team Leader to head the estimation function within our Tendering Department. The role involves delivering accurate, competitive cost estimates for a variety of infrastructure projects and supporting successful bid submissions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for infrastructure projects such as roads, utilities, earthworks, and drainage.
• Review tender documents, drawings, specifications and scope of work to ensure full understanding of project requirements.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement and planning teams to gather input for estimates.
• Analyze project risks, opportunities and constraints and reflect them in pricing strategies.
• Develop and maintain cost databases, benchmarks and estimation tools.
• Manage quantity take‑offs and ensure accuracy of calculations and assumptions.
• Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations for completeness and competitiveness.
• Provide value‑engineering suggestions to optimise project costs without compromising quality.
• Lead, mentor and develop the estimation team to ensure high performance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and tendering standards.
• Participate in bid review meetings and present estimation summaries to senior management.
• Support post‑tender clarifications and negotiations when required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in infrastructure estimation, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of infrastructure projects such as roads, drainage and utilities.
• Proficiency with estimation software and tools, particularly Excel and Primavera or similar.
• Excellent analytical, numerical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Demonstrated leadership and team‑management capabilities.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with local market rates, suppliers and subcontractors is a plus.
