Inventory Team Leader

About the role

The Inventory Team Leader oversees inventory operations across four retail stores and a central warehouse for Sharaf DG Egypt. This senior position ensures accurate stock records, optimal stock levels, and efficient handling of merchandise while supporting the company’s supply‑chain performance and growth objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate stock records across all stores and the central warehouse using integrated inventory systems.
• Lead storage, handling, and distribution of merchandise; investigate and report discrepancies promptly.
• Review and approve supplier invoices; collaborate with merchandising teams on invoice issues.
• Manage weekly purchase return reports and coordinate resolutions with merchandising and procurement.
• Direct daily/weekly cycle counts, spot checks, and annual physical inventories; perform negative‑on‑hand adjustments and root‑cause analysis.
• Develop and implement inventory forecasting models to optimise stock levels and support demand planning.
• Ensure seamless stock transfers while maintaining FIFO principles.
• Identify and mitigate shrink factors, promote loss‑prevention training, and work with the Loss Prevention Team on incidents.
• Enforce safety protocols, conduct risk assessments, and safeguard high‑value inventory.
• Lead, mentor, and evaluate a team of 8‑10 inventory executives across sites.
• Implement and monitor SOPs for consistent inventory processes.
• Utilise ERP/POS systems for data analysis and troubleshoot issues with IT.

Required profile

• 5‑7 years of inventory management experience in retail or distribution, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role overseeing multi‑site operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Relevant certification such as CPIM (APICS) or equivalent.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP/POS systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP).
• Experience building and using inventory forecasting models.
• Strong knowledge of FIFO inventory principles and shrink‑reduction techniques.
