Merchant Settlement Officer

About the role

The Merchant Settlement Officer is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of merchant payments and related financial transactions. This role works closely with internal teams and external merchants to resolve issues and maintain smooth settlement operations.

Key responsibilities

• Process merchant payments, manual charge forms, sales and refund transactions.
• Handle pick‑up card rewards, fee collection, and issuance of reward cheques.
• Perform general ledger (G/L) reconciliation and monitor rejected transactions.
• Coordinate with internal customers and other departments to address settlement issues.
• Resolve merchant queries, complaints, and pre‑authorization cancellations while maintaining clear communication.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• 1‑2 years of experience in accountancy or banking operations.
• Upper‑intermediate proficiency in English (listening, speaking, reading, writing).

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
