PHE and Fire Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a skilled PHE & Fire Design Engineer to join our multidisciplinary design team. You will be responsible for designing and coordinating plumbing, public health engineering, and fire protection systems across a variety of development types.

Key responsibilities

• Design plumbing, drainage, water supply, and firefighting systems for residential, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, industrial, and mixed‑use projects.
• Prepare concept, schematic, detailed, tender and IFC drawings.
• Perform hydraulic calculations, equipment sizing and engineering calculations in line with project requirements and applicable codes.
• Ensure compliance with international standards (NFPA, IPC, ASPE, BS EN) and local authority regulations.
• Produce design reports, technical documentation and authority submission packages.
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, HVAC, electrical, civil and BIM teams to deliver fully integrated designs.
• Lead a small design team, assign tasks, review deliverables and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 4–7 years of experience in plumbing (PHE) and fire protection design within an engineering consultancy.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA, IPC, ASPE, BS EN and local regulations.
• Proven experience on residential, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, industrial and mixed‑use projects.
