Procurement Specialist

About the role

Huhtamaki is seeking a detail‑oriented and resourceful Procurement Specialist to ensure uninterrupted material availability and support business continuity. The role focuses on purchase order execution, supplier performance management, supply risk mitigation, and inventory optimisation within the framework of approved suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Execute purchase orders in line with production plans, demand forecasts and material requirements.
• Manage and monitor open purchase orders to ensure timely supplier confirmations and delivery commitments.
• Track shipment schedules, proactively address delays, and maintain On‑Time‑In‑Full (OTIF) delivery performance.
• Expedite critical materials and resolve supply issues to prevent operational disruptions.
• Identify, assess and mitigate supply risks, material shortages and delivery constraints.
• Collaborate with Planning, Production, Warehouse and Logistics teams to align supply with operational needs.
• Lead shortage management activities and implement corrective actions to minimise inventory risks.
• Monitor supplier performance against lead times, service levels and delivery commitments, maintaining performance metrics and KPIs.
• Select suppliers from the Approved Supplier List and manage volume allocation based on material availability, lead‑time performance and production priorities.

• Experience in operational procurement, supplier performance management and supply risk mitigation.
