Risk Officer – Service Contract (Level 9)

About the role

The World Food Programme is seeking a Risk Officer on a Service Contract (Level 9) to strengthen risk management and compliance within its Cairo Country Office. The role will support the implementation of the Country Strategic Plan (2023‑2028) and help safeguard resources in a dynamic humanitarian environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor risk management processes and internal controls.
• Conduct risk assessments, identify emerging risks and propose mitigation measures.
• Ensure compliance with WFP corporate policies, donor requirements and relevant regulations.
• Prepare risk analysis reports and present findings to senior management.
• Collaborate with programme, finance and procurement teams to embed a culture of accountability.
• Support internal audit activities and follow‑up on audit recommendations.

Required profile

• University degree in risk management, finance, economics, public administration or a related field.
• Proven experience in risk management, internal controls or compliance, preferably in an international or humanitarian organization.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
