Health Safety Environment Officer

About the role

The Health Safety Environment (HSE) Officer will lead the implementation and monitoring of HSE policies to ensure a safe, compliant workplace across all logistics operations. You will work closely with management and staff to maintain statutory compliance and promote a culture of safety.

Key responsibilities

• Implement, review and communicate HSE policies, procedures and regulations.
• Maintain statutory HSE obligations, including training, reporting and documentation.
• Conduct and regularly update risk assessments, equipment safety checks and impact analyses.
• Document, investigate and drive improvements for accidents and environmental incidents.
• Organise safety inspections, fire drills, lone‑working procedures and ensure employee awareness.
• Develop HSE systems, audit programs and maintain accurate training records.
• Perform food safety, health and safety inspections, prepare reports and track corrective actions.
• Deliver food safety and HSE training to relevant personnel.
• Support quality management system implementation and handle customer complaints related to safety.

Required profile

• BSc in Science or Engineering.
• HSE specialist certification.
• First‑aid certification from an approved authority.
• Fire‑fighting certification from an approved authority.

Required skills

• Risk assessment and hazard analysis.
• Food safety inspection and CAPA tracking.
• HSE audit and compliance monitoring.
• Manual handling and personal protective equipment (PPE) procedures.
