WASH Internship – 16 weeks in Cairo

About the role

UNICEF’s WASH programme in Egypt is looking for a motivated intern to support operational and coordination activities over a 16‑week period. You will gain hands‑on experience in water, sanitation and hygiene projects that contribute to public health and child well‑being.

Key responsibilities

• Edit and format project proposals, concept notes and briefing documents.
• Prepare, edit and proofread reports, presentations and other communication materials.
• Update tracking tools and assist with WASH supply status reporting, including delivery documentation.
• Support logistics for meetings, workshops and training sessions, including participant coordination.
• Take meeting minutes and monitor follow‑up actions.
• Facilitate communication and coordination with partner organisations and inter‑agency bodies.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or recently graduated (within 2 years) from an undergraduate or graduate programme.
• Relevant fields of study: Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Management, Environmental Science, Climate Change, International Development, Public Policy, Business Administration or Supply Chain Management.
• Strong academic performance as demonstrated by recent transcripts.
• Fluency in English.
