Chemical Engineer – Remote Chemistry Expert (Short‑Term Contract)

About the role

We are seeking a highly qualified Chemistry Expert to work remotely on a short‑term, task‑based contract. The role involves solving advanced chemistry problems, creating detailed explanations, and supporting AI model fine‑tuning projects.

Key responsibilities

• Solve postgraduate‑level chemistry questions and provide thorough explanations.
• Develop content that includes text, images, chemical equations, diagrams, and visual representations.
• Analyze and explain complex organic reaction mechanisms with annotated structures.
• Address chemical equilibrium problems using visual tools such as reaction‑progress and energy diagrams.
• Tackle challenging stoichiometry, thermodynamics, organic chemistry, and electrochemistry problems with textual and diagrammatic explanations.
• Provide constructive feedback and detailed annotations on chemistry‑related tasks.
• Contribute analytical problem‑solving to AI model fine‑tuning projects.

Required profile

• Master’s or Ph.D. (or currently pursuing) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related field.
• Strong research and analytical abilities.
• Excellent structured communication and collaboration skills in a remote environment.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently, and able to provide detailed feedback.
• Access to a reliable desktop/laptop with internet connection.
• LinkedIn profile must be included in the resume.
• Willingness to undergo a background check after onboarding.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least three of the following tools: GROMACS, LAMMPS, Psi4, PySCF, xtb, crest, Multiwfn, Cantera, CoolProp, NWChem, PyBaMM, RDKit, Open Babel.

What we offer

• Compensation of $450 per approved task.
• 40 hours per week with a 4‑hour overlap with Pacific Standard Time.
• Short‑term contract lasting 11 weeks.
