Events Manager

About the role

The Events Manager prepares all event documentation and coordinates with Sales, property departments and customers to deliver consistent, high-level service across the pre-event, event and post-event phases of property events. The role mainly covers events of average complexity and ensures a smooth handover from sales to service and back to sales, while spotting upselling and enhancement opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage event logistics and operations: follow procedures, collaborate with colleagues, greet customers during the event and hand off details to the Event Operations team.
• Ensure billing accuracy, review bills with clients before payment, manage group room blocks and meeting space, and act as liaison between field sales and customers.
• Take part in customer site inspections, solicit feedback from property departments and handle guest problems and complaints.
• Deliver exceptional customer service, coordinate event details verbally and in writing, and follow up with customers after the event.
• Lead pre- and post-event meetings for average to large groups and facilitate meetings such as Banquet Event Orders and block reviews.
• Assist sales and revenue forecasting, forecast group sleeping rooms and event revenue (catering and audiovisual), and up-sell products and services.
• Review comment cards and guest satisfaction results, give feedback to employees and help implement corrective action plans.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED, with 1-2 years of experience in event management or a related field.
• Or a 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or a related major, with at least 1 year of event management experience.
