Installation Engineer

About the role

Hitachi Rail is seeking an Installation Engineer to lead the on‑site installation, testing and commissioning of Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) equipment for railway stations in Egypt. You will work closely with project teams and clients to ensure that all installations meet technical and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review station coordination drawings to verify compliance with AFC system requirements.
• Oversee the installation, testing and commissioning of AFC equipment on‑site.
• Enforce Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) rules throughout the project.
• Coordinate with other contractors to resolve technical issues.
• Record technical data and produce installation and electrical testing reports.
• Conduct official AFC system tests with the client and prepare final test reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications & Electronics or Power Engineering.
• 2–5 years of experience in electrical installation and troubleshooting.
• Proven ability to write clear technical documents.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Strong skills with Windows and MS Office.
• Experience in network installation and configuration.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership abilities.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
