Utilities Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Utilities Engineer to manage the daily operation, maintenance and optimisation of critical utility systems such as HVAC, purified water, WFI, air compressors, generators and incinerators. The role ensures compliance with GMP, energy management (EnMS) and safety standards while leading a team of technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, record and optimise performance of all utility equipment, ensuring GMP and safety compliance.
• Lead mechanical and electrical repairs, plan preventive maintenance and resolve equipment failures promptly.
• Prepare SOPs, AutoCAD drawings, spare‑parts lists and corrective‑action reports to meet audit and regulatory requirements.
• Assign tasks, supervise technicians and allocate resources efficiently.
• Implement and improve the Energy Management System (EnMS) and adhere to QHSE policies.
• Develop action plans to increase energy efficiency, system reliability and overall operational performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 2 years of hands‑on experience in utilities operations, preferably in pharmaceuticals or other regulated industries.
• Strong leadership, problem‑solving and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Experience with maintenance planning.
• Knowledge of GMP/EU compliance requirements.
