Backend Engineer - Node.js

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer specialized in Node.js to join our remote team at Colada. You will help build and maintain the core services that power our dining discovery platform, ensuring they are fast, reliable and scalable.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy backend services using Node.js and ExpressJS.
• Optimize performance and ensure system scalability and reliability.
• Integrate RESTful APIs and manage data storage with MongoDB.
• Collaborate with front‑end developers to deliver seamless user experiences.
• Participate in code reviews, debug issues, and contribute to architectural decisions for new features.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of TypeScript, Docker, Docker‑compose and Nginx.
• Proficiency with the ExpressJS framework.
• Experience with MongoDB and query optimisation.
• Solid problem‑solving and debugging abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience.
