EHS Engineer (f/m/d)

About the role

IFF is looking for an EHS Engineer to join its Cairo site. The role supports the implementation and continuous improvement of Environmental, Health, Safety and Process Safety Management (PSM) programs, ensuring compliance with local regulations, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, IFF corporate requirements and process safety standards. It works with operations, maintenance, quality and contractors to promote a strong safety culture and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Promote a proactive safety culture through engagement, coaching and awareness initiatives, and lead safety campaigns, observations and Safety Committee activities
• Conduct workplace risk assessments and Job Safety Analyses (JSA), perform EHS inspections and audits, and track corrective and preventive actions
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and IFF EHS requirements, and support ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems
• Support PSM, PHA (What-If, LOPA, Bow-Tie, HAC, ATEX), MOC, PSSR and process safety reviews, and investigate incidents and near misses
• Administer contractor safety programs, inductions, audits and permit-to-work processes
• Lead incident investigations, coordinate emergency drills and inspect fire protection and emergency equipment
• Support environmental compliance, waste management, ZWL objectives and monitoring of energy, water and waste metrics
• Deliver EHS training and inductions, run awareness campaigns, track KPIs and support internal and external audits

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Chemical or Industrial Engineering or a related field
• 3-5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent certification
• Experience implementing ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Nice to have: manufacturing, chemical, food, flavors, pharmaceutical or FMCG experience, and PSM knowledge
