About the role
The Front Office Agent is the first point of contact for guests, responsible for delivering a friendly, caring, and professional experience during check‑in and check‑out. This role shapes the guest’s first and last impression of the residence.
Key responsibilities
- Check‑in arriving guests, register them, assign rooms and accommodate special requests.
- Assist guests with registration cards, baggage handling and use suggestive selling to promote rooms and other services.
- Verify payment methods, follow credit‑checking procedures and process cash or card transactions.
- Handle guest check‑out, inquire about last‑minute charges, settle accounts and issue invoices.
- Manage front‑office cash transactions, foreign‑currency exchange and balance cash float at shift end.
- Answer guest inquiries by phone or in person, issue safe‑deposit boxes, relay messages and address complaints.
- Coordinate room status updates with housekeeping for late check‑outs, early check‑ins and special requests.
- Maintain knowledge of products, services and reservation procedures, and keep the work area tidy.
Required profile
- Fluent oral and written English; additional languages are a plus.
- Experience in luxury or upscale hotel environments preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to multitask in a fast‑paced, multinational setting.
- Willingness to work rotational shifts, including up to 15 night‑shift days per month (11 pm‑8 am).
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
