GL Accountant – Egypt

About the role

Ingram Micro, a technology company serving the global IT sales channel, is looking for an Accountant to join its Finance team in Egypt. The role supports the processing and maintenance of financial transactions and develops practical experience across core accounting processes, working under the guidance of experienced team members and collaborating with internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and review the general ledger, ensuring accruals, prepayments, intercompany and depreciation transactions are correctly recorded.
• Retrieve bank statements for the LENA cluster and match them against internal accounting records, then report findings to stakeholders.
• Upload payments for all AP trade and non-trade suppliers across LENA.
• Review, post and reconcile project-based marketing activities for the LENA cluster.
• Check accounting records and supporting documents for discrepancies, investigate routine issues and follow through on corrections.
• Work with Finance colleagues and business stakeholders to meet deadlines, maintain effective controls and improve accounting processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or another relevant field.
• Recent graduate or up to two years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, audit or a related area.
• Understanding of foundational accounting principles, financial transactions, reconciliations, journal entries and basic reporting.
• Strong attention to detail, clear communication, collaboration, customer focus and ownership of professional development.

Required skills

• Effective use of Microsoft Excel.
• Comfortable learning accounting applications and ERP systems.
