Operations Technician - Water & Wastewater Treatment

About the role

Dawam Business Solutions is hiring full-time Operations Technicians for water treatment plants or wastewater treatment facilities. The technician operates, monitors and maintains the plant, performs water tests, adjusts chemical dosages and resolves operational issues while following strict safety and environmental protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and adjust pumps, valves, filters, chemical feed systems and other equipment, manually and via SCADA systems
• Collect and analyse water samples and run physical and chemical tests such as pH, turbidity and chlorine residuals
• Prepare, handle and apply treatment chemicals (coagulants, disinfectants, pH adjusters) according to protocols and test results
• Carry out routine inspections, preventative maintenance and minor repairs; report complex mechanical or electrical issues to senior technicians
• Follow safety procedures including confined space entry, chemical handling, lockout/tagout and PPE, and maintain a clean, safe workplace
• Keep detailed logs of operations, maintenance and test results, and generate daily, weekly and monthly reports
• Respond to alarms, spills and equipment failures, and work with operators, maintenance teams, laboratory staff and supervisors

Required profile

• High school diploma or a related field is highly preferred
• Relevant professional certification (e.g. Water Treatment Operator, Wastewater Treatment Operator) from Egyptian authorities is essential
• Proven experience operating and maintaining water or wastewater treatment plants
• Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints and schematics, and to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends and holidays, with on-call availability

• Water chemistry, hydraulics and treatment processes (coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, disinfection)
• SCADA systems and process control software
• Laboratory testing and interpretation of analytical results
