Tour Leader – Guide Groups in Hurghada

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Tour Leader to welcome and guide groups of travelers in Hurghada and potentially other key Egyptian destinations. The role involves ensuring a safe, informative and enjoyable experience from the moment participants arrive until the tour concludes.
Key responsibilities
- Welcome tour groups at the designated starting point and verify participant attendance.
- Guide groups throughout the journey, highlighting and explaining points of interest.
- Answer participant questions and advise on local customs, languages, and currency exchange.
- Manage travel arrangements, stopovers, and adjust routes or plans as needed.
- Handle passport/visa issues, emergencies, illnesses, accidents, lost luggage, and complaints professionally.
- Collaborate with the Operations Department to implement safety, disaster recovery, and evacuation procedures.
- Coordinate with bus captains and other parties to ensure smooth tour operations.
- Monitor safety and security of group members during all phases of the trip.
- Provide clear briefings on destination information, logistics, and expectations.
- Respond to emergencies and unforeseen situations, minimizing disruption.
- Manage and resolve participant complaints proactively.
- Review agreements between tour agencies and groups, guiding response actions.
- Collect and act on participant feedback to improve service quality.
- Support the establishment of the Traffic Department overseeing ground services in Hurghada and future destinations.
- Perform any additional tasks aligned with organizational needs.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Tourism, Hospitality, or a related field.
- Fluency in English; additional languages such as German or French are a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Egyptian history, culture, and major tourist attractions.
- Minimum of 2 years proven experience as a Tour Leader in Hurghada.
- Excellent time‑management skills and ability to follow itineraries efficiently.
- Proven ability to handle unexpected situations (flight delays, weather changes, guest complaints) professionally.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
