Assistant Operations Manager – Mall Facilities

About the role

The Assistant Operations Manager will support the daily running of a large retail mall, overseeing housekeeping, pest control, waste management and related services. Reporting to senior management, the role ensures that all operational standards are met and that visitors enjoy a clean, safe environment.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor the housekeeping plan for internal and external mall areas, directing staff and conducting regular inspections.
• Oversee pest control, bird control and waste management services, ensuring compliance with standards and performance targets.
• Recommend, prepare and monitor the operations budget, tracking financial performance against forecasts.
• Manage the Operations department, allocating resources, enforcing standards and controlling costs.
• Lead the operations team by setting objectives, evaluating performance and fostering staff development.
• Track contractor performance against KPIs and SLAs, prepare reports and suggest improvement actions.
• Ensure service providers use appropriate equipment and tools to protect assets.
• Plan staff placement and supervise supervisory staff to maintain high service quality.

Required profile

• Proven experience in facilities or operations management within a retail or mall environment.
• Strong knowledge of housekeeping, pest control and waste management processes.
• Ability to develop and control budgets, monitor financial results and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Leadership skills with experience managing teams and contractors.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to enforce standards through inspections.
