Commercial Operations Specialist

About the role

Mars is looking for a Commercial Operations Specialist in Cairo to manage its Middle East and Africa (MEA) supplier base for specific categories. The role ensures the Global / Regional Category strategy is executed and leads the Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) programs regionally, while handling day-to-day management of the materials supply base and supplier performance so that factory deliveries meet the agreed KPIs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead COGS initiatives and specification changes, and own the resilience program in MEA (dual sourcing, non-bespoke, RMS VL) with SQA and R&D
• Negotiate supplier quality, price, service, lead times, MOQs and payment terms to secure the best value
• Manage RFQs, tenders, contract creation and PO issuance, and support new supplier introductions and approvals
• Provide regional management of purchase price variance and buying performance metrics, and contribute to the regional operating plan
• Support site planning and logistics to ensure supply continuity and zero run-outs, and ensure bi-annual supplier performance reviews with SQA
• Protect Mars intellectual property through confidentiality agreements and supply contracts, and support sustainability initiatives
• Monitor commodity trends, share market intelligence with global category teams, and support supplier development programs

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree
• 3-5 years of procurement experience, preferably in FMCG
• Fluent in English
