Key Account Manager - Modern Trade

About the role

MARS is looking for a Key Account Manager in Cairo to cover accounts that are strategic to its business. The role is personally accountable for delivering results across KPIs and for leading, developing and inspiring the sales and merchandising team and all stakeholders toward a high-performance culture. It is supported by FOTS merchandisers and supervisors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a team of merchandisers and sales representatives across an allocated store territory, ensuring KPIs and work plans are delivered.
• Build customer networks and relationships for the benefit of MARS business.
• Execute annual BDA contracts with customer headquarters, ensuring compliance with plans and achievement of assigned targets.
• Deliver freshness targets and zero returns.
• Manage forecast planning for Modern Trade customers in coordination with the Demand Team.
• Plan and execute big events and store-specific activities, including long-term quarterly planning.
• Identify further store opportunities beyond the head office and store plans and work with the field sales manager to deliver them.
• Model the behaviours required by the Mars 5 Principles.
• Take manual orders, check stock levels, manage out-of-stocks, activate barcodes at store level and follow up on deliveries.
• Own the relationship with key store personnel, implement planograms and manage the merchandising team's administrative needs, sometimes acting as line manager for merchandisers.
• Deliver and execute co-packs and follow up on LPOs with the customer services team.
