About the role
The Payments Assistant Manager will oversee the bank's pay and receive functions, ensuring smooth collections and remittance operations. This role combines operational oversight with compliance and team leadership.
Key responsibilities
- Manage all pay and receive activities, including collections and payments/remittances.
- Segregate duties for collections and remittances to maintain operational focus.
- Process and reconcile remittance transactions according to established procedures.
- Deliver error‑free services within prescribed turnaround times.
- Implement bank policies and procedures in the payments area and ensure full compliance.
- Identify training needs for direct reports and coordinate their development.
- Distribute work among team members to optimize productivity.
Required profile
- Experience in banking or financial services, specifically in payments, collections, or remittances.
- Strong understanding of compliance requirements and internal policies.
- Proven ability to train and supervise staff.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
