Site Engineer – Interior Projects

About the role

The Site Engineer will act as the bridge between design and execution for interior projects in Cairo. You will manage on‑site technical operations, support material sourcing and procurement, and ensure that design intent is delivered cost‑effectively, on time and within scope.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on‑site for contractors, subcontractors and operatives.
• Coordinate with clients, sub‑consultants and contractors to maintain quality standards.
• Hire, manage and monitor sub‑contractors, ensuring performance aligns with project requirements.
• Conduct regular site visits to track progress, resolve technical issues and enforce health & safety regulations.
• Research and recommend materials and finishes that meet design concepts and budget constraints.
• Liaise with suppliers and vendors to obtain quotations, samples and manage procurement.
• Collaborate with designers to produce accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and align designs with budgetary goals.
• Support project managers in schedule and budget tracking, flagging deviations early.
• Prepare on‑site reports, contracts, schedules and specifications.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 4–6 years of experience in site supervision and technical office duties.
• Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent) is a plus.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of interior materials, finishes and local Egyptian suppliers.
• Ability to produce and review Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
• Negotiation skills with vendors and subcontractors.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Excel for BOQ and cost control.
